    Whether you’re aiming at entry level or top level, local or international, self-employment or working for a corporation, you’ll learn a wide range of business skills and knowledge that can apply to any industry.

    Your learning covers the essential fundamentals of business, such as basic accounting principles, how to interpret financial performance, economic theory, fundamentals of commercial law, organisational management, communication and marketing.

    Employers are looking for skilled, adaptable students who can keep up with technological developments and always be on the look-out for ways to improve and innovate. With this diploma you could work as an accounting technician, analyst, business banker, event manager, marketing executive, office manager or sales executive, depending on the courses you choose.

    Through the KPMG Junior Accountant Programme, you could apply for a junior accounting role with KPMG and study through Toi Ohomai, starting with the NZ Diploma in Business (Level 5).

    Upon successfully completing the requirements you'll receive the award of:

    • New Zealand Diploma in Business (Accounting) (Level 5), OR
    • New Zealand Diploma in Business (Leadership and Management) (Level 5)

    You'll enrol in four compulsory topics, and then chose a specialty - either accounting, leadership and management, or marketing.

    Entry criteria

    • 50 credits at NCEA Level 2, including a minimum of eight Literacy credits, OR
    • equivalent educational achievement.

    English Language requirements:

    IELTS Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5.0; TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) score of 46 or higher (with a writing score of 20); TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT) score of 550 (with an essay score of 5.0 TWE); FCE, FCE for schools, with a score of 162, no less than 154 in each skill; NZCEL of Level 4 with the Academic endorsement; PToE (Academic) score of 42.
