Do you want to lead the team on a building site? Construction management involves the supervision and management of construction sites to achieve the successful completion of a contract on time, on budget, and to a high standard. If you’re good with people and a clear decision-maker, this course could be right for you.

You will have the opportunity to visit different construction sites and following the construction of a house project making a log book of the work that's going on. This gives you just the right balance of applied theory and problem-solving skills to grab the construction management jobs that are popping up all over the country.

Entry criteria

There are no minimum academic requirements (open entry). However it is recommended you:

• have a minimum of 48 NCEA credits at Level 2 including English or Maths, OR
• are able to demonstrate equivalent skills and knowledge.

English Language requirements:

IELTS Academic score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5; TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) score of 60 or higher (with a writing score of 20); TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT) score of 550 (with an essay score of 5.0 TWE); FCE, FCE for schools, CAE with a score of 169, no less than 162 in each skill; NZCEL of Level 4 with the Academic endorsement; PToE (Academic) score of 50.
