Summary
A stepping stone to a master’s
This qualification will give you the ability to proceed to further in-depth research, such as a master’s.
What is it Like?
The Postgraduate Diploma in Accountancy (PGDipAcc) is an advanced programme of professional education in specialist accounting topics. You need an undergraduate accountancy qualification to enter study towards this qualification.
The postgraduate diploma gives you the opportunity to hone your research skills, giving you the ability to go into a more research-focused qualification such as a master’s.
Learn from leading business experts
The Massey Business School is one of the country’s leading and largest business schools - it is ranked among the top two per cent of business schools globally and is AACSB accredited.
Our School of Accountancy has accreditation from national and international professional institutions including the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK). Massey University’s accountancy and finance programme ranks in the 150 universities in the world by QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) rankings. Our lecturers are actively researching, bringing the most relevant developments in accounting theory and practice to your study.
Why postgraduate study?
Postgraduate study is hard work but hugely rewarding and empowering. The workload of the Postgraduate Diploma in Accountancy replicates the high-pressure environment of senior workplace roles and high-level research. Our experts are there to guide but if you have come from undergraduate study, you will find that postgraduate study demands more in-depth and independent study.
Not just more of the same
Postgraduate study is not just ‘more of the same’ undergraduate study. It takes you to a new level in knowledge and expertise especially in planning and undertaking research.
