Civil Engineering
Work in the design, construction and maintenance of the natural and physically built environment.
Electrical Engineering
Focus on the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism.

Programme structure
The degree consists of compulsory and elective courses. All courses focus on designing and implementing engineering technology to give you the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed for the industry.
Year 1
Develop your skills in communication, management, mathematics, engineering science, electrical/electronic principles and basic engineering practices. You will have the opportunity to select electives depending on your major.
Year 2
Develop specialist skills for your chosen major.
Year 3
Undertake a significant industry-based development project. You'll gain real-world experience within the engineering profession.
Accredited qualification
The degree is accredited by the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) to ensure it meets national and international standards. Once you've graduated, you'll be eligible to become a graduate member of IPENZ.
Internationally, the degree is accredited to the International Engineering Alliance's Sydney Accord.

Entry criteria
NCEA Level 3 including:
Three subjects at Level 3 – including Physics with a minimum of 14 credits and Calculus with a minimum of 14 credits
One other subject with a minimum of 14 credits from the list of NZQA approved subjects
English Language Requirements:
IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no sub score less than 5.5; TOEFL Internet-Based Test (iBT) score of 60 (with a writing score of 20); Cambridge English Test - FCE with a pass at Grade B; Pearson Test of English (Academic) - PToE (Academic) score of 50; New Zealand Certificate in English Language (NZCEL) - Level 4 with the Academic endorsement.
